I haven't got a clue but i wouldn't use flash out of courtesy, or incase it caused an incident :P

I have seen a few guys with flashes at Amateur races and the general feeling i got was that the riders didn't like it, whether that was because they didn't do too well?? I suppose it may depend on if it is a separate flash unit on a stand set at the side of the trail to light up the rider as he/she is level so it doesn't go off in his/her face, maybe that is acceptable?

Other than that I have no idea?

i just wouldn't tbh

what would you think if you were halfway though a winning run and you ended up in a tree because of someone shoving a flash in your face?

:P

just have to look at it from the rider's point of view

Without knowing Fort Bill, I would suggest photographers find a place clear of tree cover and the light would be sufficient for photography without flash - unless there is thick cloud cover and driving rain.
