Why?

My LBS couldn't fix my brakes so they made my bell louder

Because whenever they spring back they leave this kind of grease stuff. It doesn't make my bike look too good

Hi Kavi,

They should leave a thin film of oil behind on the stanchion when you cycle them through their suspension range, it's normal.

How old's your bike, what is it and as Greenie asked above what forks are you running?

hi sir_qu, while we are on the subject one of my stantions seems to be more oily than i think normal.
its been getting worse over the weeks and today i noticed quite a thick layer of clean oil from the seal to the crown.
what do you think?
im thinking service but im just wondering if you think it sounds like a nasty supprise when i get them done.
also i am going to use evans cycles as its local and means no postage etc. have you any experiance with them or even heard any feedbak about them?

Hey Gra,

Gore's left some evans feedback below!! Sorry, I haven't any personal experience.

I would have a look at the wiper seals around the forks to see if any dirt's gotten in there that's holding the seal open.

Also there was a good fork service 'how to' in a previous MBR that ran through a Rock Shox service, think they did one on FOX as well, but wouldn't swear to it, if you're feeling brave!

Having said that I'll be taking mine to the LBS when they need their annual service, I've done everything else including the rear shock but I'm considering forks 'flight critical' and I'll leave them to the pro's - have you seen the Old Guys & Gals who should know better this month?? Eeeww..

hi kev, 2 things on my steed i leave to the experts, my forks and my shock. once bitten twice shy.
my forks are booked into evans this friday.
yes i did see, god that must have had him doubled for 20 mins plus.
if you think back to the last issue in the readers letters there were 1 or 2 complaints about the merlin add showing off a rather perfect ladys bottom.
whats guna happen with half a penis and a bruised bollock?

Oh yes, I seem to remember one young lady did send in a photo of a rather poorly treated top bollock. Can't find it in the library though...
