Right, just guaging interest at the moment.
Does anybody fancy a weekend of camping, drinking and riding? I suggest that the riding is just a trailcentre type thing, so as many people as possible can get involved.
Potential locations; maybe the lakes, seven stanes, wales? Where would people like?
Let's hear your opinions folks!

You know what I would suggest.
Glentress.
For a long Weekend, Say Saturday, Play around in the feeride park etc, then up the red to do Spooky woods once or twice.
Sunday, The Black Route 30k of lovley stuff, unfortunatly no Ewok village but still good fun.
Monday if it is a bank holiday and anybody is up for it Innerlethern.
Or Sotheren Stains, Ae, Dalbeaty, mabie and Kirroughtree.
Does either sound tasty! mmmmmmm.........

Sounds like a good plan, but could be really busy. What about a lesser known stane (or two?).
I remember camping at Newton Stewart years ago. Seem to remember it being a huge site, and I think it's close to a number of the Stanes. Could be an idea?

Ah a weekend of camping drinking and riding. what a great idea. it might even catch on
I think trail centres would be a good idea, then the family can have a play on the blue and greens. Dalbeatie and mabie would be good for that

Count me in! Early June?
I like the Scottish trail centre idea but reckon if we based ourselves at Ambleside or similar we'd have whinlatter and grizedale on the doorstep and all the natural trails we could want, as well as more stuff for the non riders...
Plus it's a bit more central for everyone to get to.

My only concern with the lakes is the availability of campsites/accommodation at peak season. And most can be really picky as to wether they'll accept groups or not... But you're right, it's much more central for everyone.
My vote currently is for Newton Stewart. That gives a choice of Kirroughtree (McMoab!) Glentrool, Mabie and Dalbeattie all within reasonable driving distance, so there's a huge selection of routes that most of us have never tried before.
If we get a lot of interest I'll set up a poll and we'll go with the majority.

Not sure... I'll do some research after the moto GP has finished. I just remember staying up there as a lad on a huge site. I'd be surprised if it wasn't still there.

newton stewart would be a bit too far for me with the family for a weekend, could perhaps bring a pup tent on my own ??
must say the facilities at Pinfold site in Sedbergh were great and the MBR forum now has a 100% record of good behaviour. Ok so we only went once but it is still 100%

I am not sure that it should be recommended for Tango, as I took this the last time I was there and could not help thinking it may be an omen.
Other than that it's even a fair distance for me.
