Front shck pressure
      #2892 - 11/06/2008 10:23

Hi, just got a Trek 6500 with Tora fork. Just wondering (a)what pressure the pre-load will take before any damage will be caused, and (b)any suggestions what pressue to set it at. I'm about 12st, plus say a couple for clothing and kit for commuting.
I've initially pumped it to about 125psi which seems OK, but any suggestions and advise would be welcome.

Hi BB,

The pies, the pies!

It should have a list of working pressure on the left fork leg, I'm around the same weight and from memory I ran my 318 Tora's at 180psi. Say 96kg with all the gear on.

Mine also say +220psi so I would say your well within your limits up to 220, after that I'd check the manual out or go to SRAM's website.

Now, where did I put those pies?

No prob's BB,

Don't be afraid to play around with the pressure setting, you'll be amazed what +/-10psi here or there will do. (just keep an eye on the sag)
And don't forget the rebound adjustment on the bottom of the right fork leg!

It's your bike so set it up how you want and to what feels right to you.
