Just had an awesome weekend in Coed Y Brenin, the Beast & Dragons Back was brilliant, couldn't fault any of loops, oh except for the midges, still scratching now. The weather was great, and to cool the arse down after all the bouncing (should of had a full susser) we had a swim below the waterfall. My chain and brake broke and the people at the visitor centre bike shop put a new chain and repaired my brake for £22, top marks to them. Now looking to next year at Afan Forest, so if anybody knows of some good self catering accomodation, then please let me know.

Hi Hammersfan,
I was trying to get down there last bank holiday but the entire place seemed full. Not sure if you'd be happy to camp but they have a camp site near the trail centre. Google Afan and get the phone number. I spoke to a nice bloke, even though he was Welsh (ouch that'll cost me ) and he said you could have fires in the fire pits and it did sound pretty cool.
Don't forget the mozzy net!

My LBS couldn't fix my brakes so they made my bell louder
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!!

Unfortunately one of my co-riders is a bit of a wimp when it come's to camping, something about clashing as he is a bit camp anyway, plus he dosen't like the spiders etc. Was going to do the C2C and either stay in youth hostels or camp, but that got thrown out. Anyway thanks for the reply.

We've done all the trails around there and yes they are absolutley awesome! These were our 1st experiences of trail riding which has subsequently totally spoilt us because now nothing ever compairs!
We stayed at a remote cottage cottage called Ty Newydd Geirionydd. It overlooks a lake & has fantastic views & Your actually situated just off the beaton track of the trails! The website is www.northwalescottages.co.uk
