From Wikipedia:-
“A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people with a "cooling off" period between each murder and whose motivation for killing is largely based on psychological gratification.”
Oh Yes, chuck in some OCD and you’ve got your Serial Killers profile!!
Nice work MBR Towers but what do you think we take to read whilst we are lying in wait for our next victim, Good Housekeeping?? LOL
Have to admit that the bottle wasn’t found until 10.57am on the Saturday morning following a crash course in learning how to convert dd.mmm.ss into British grid format.
At one stage the location of the treasure came up in Dronfield 24km away!!
With those little wrinkles of my plan ironed out it was then a matter of hunting the little blighter out, a VERY well hidden bottle with only a glimpse of the gaffa taped bottom visible and stuffed down a SCUBA diving rabbit’s front door. (Submerged rabbit hole)
A slight change of time in releasing the co-ordinates, a change in the co-ordinates format and a change in their location, Brilliant but not quite brilliant enough Mr Bond!
Also thanks for the crash course in learning how to use a GPS properly, just one complaint…
Next time if you’re going to hide it in waist deep scratchy heather, can you let me know so I can wear long trousers.!!
Oh and finally.
Whilst the second multi-tool has yet to arrive (second time I’ve mentioned this) and it is promised to Lady Q I will put the 3rd one up on Ebay to auction it off in aid of The British Heart foundation.
I’ll certainly need their help after doing all these Killer Loops!
I’ll let everyone know when it hits Ebay with a post in the LOUNGE
PS I’ve delayed this posting as long as I could bear; patience is not something I’m blessed with!
This route is SO good I didn’t want to put anyone off riding it just because the treasure has gone.
But be warned it should be respected at every turn, as a trip over my handlebars on the final descent taught me. Fortunately, and as Lady Q will attest, I landed on something soft – my head , so a big thanks goes out to Giro there would have been even more blood for Typhoo to mop up if it hadn’t been for my trusty lid.
Cheers Mr T!

Hey Brij,
They are there for the taking!!
If I had an unfair advantage in anyway then I would take your point, but I don't, so I don't!
I get the same info at the same time as everyone else. I enjoy riding my bike around some great routes and at the end of the day this is a challenge and it's open to everyone, there have been 7 routes so far and I've been fortunate enough to get 3 - hardly a whitewash!
If you like a challenge then step up and I'll see you on the next killer route or, alternatively, just snuggle down into your duvet a little deeper on the 28th safe in the knowledge that you're not stretching yourself too far!

ooooohhhhh, the forum's first scrap! You've not a got a proper forum until people are scrapping.
With this competition, you've got to think of it as being a bit like Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket comp - getting a golden ticket gets you through the door and into Willy's wonderful world (or MBR's, in this case), but having more golden tickets doesn't necessarily stand you at an advantage.
This is actually what the MBR office is like - click on the pic, look carefully and you'll spot Kitchy in this vid.

Hey Sir Q I was once told this quote and it made me think long and hard about me. I think your little friend who is a tad jealous might want to read it and then think long and hard!!! "Jealousy is the greatest of all evils, and the one which arouses the least pity in the person who causes it"

Little Friend? it's got nothing to do with jealousy. I just think that people who haven't found one deserve a chance and if i'd found one ( which i haven't tried to do yet due to my working commitments and probably won't be able to )i would not go out of my way to find the others. Anyway as Mr Waterman states it doesn't necessarily stand you at an advantage.

my last post is not strictly true as i did look for one bottle in the lakes after the weather was so horrendous we could not do the coniston killer or any other rides for that matter. However we did not find it and i congratulated the winner on this forum so no jealousy here! anyway the matter is now closed just letting my opinion be known.

Hey Brijj,
We are all entitled to our opinions, otherwise there would only be 1 type of bike for us to ride!!
I was going to respond about your previous message as I had seen that you attempted the Ambleside Killer which I did as well so that confusion has been cleared up. I'm actually to the winners right on the Photo in the mag and was the first to shake his hand when he found the prize!! Having looked under the rock myself 20 minutes earlier and not spotted the bottle, these things are NOT easy to find!
Me and my buddy Typhoo then went on to complete the entire Killer Loop, (that's what your supposed to do isn't it?) and I still rave about how it is one of the best killer loops I've ever done. Not sure how you experienced such bad weather, yeah it rained (a bit) but so what...
If having more golden tickets doesn't stand one at an advantage then all of the other winners will probably be on the lookout for more so as to reduce the overall number of entrants in to MBR's world, they're the only ones to mix editorial by waterfall you know?
Anyway, it's not so much the prize that is the end game here for me, it's the taking part and meeting some great people out on the trails, it really is about getting out there and riding!

Here Here Sir Q!
Well done.
-------------------- "Cross Country is where it all began. Giving riders the opportunity to go beyond roads and experience new places in nature where no one else goes. It is a test of endurance and technical skills where one must climb up steep hills and descend down narrow trails through wandering trees and over rocks. Giving one an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and excitement with one simple ride." - Kelli Emmett

Hey Gra,
Trust me I started off not being able to read maps, contours, trigs, elevations roads or anything.
Investing in a GPS doesn't make it much easier either as you have to learn how to use it properly along with installing all the software. Then be able to use it quickly and get to where you need to be.
For me it was the anticipation and preparation for the hunt that was the exciting bit. The rides are fantastic, don't get me wrong, but without the plotting and planning that starts 10 days before the co-ordinate release date it just ain't the same.
3 is where I'm going to leave it for now, haven't even looked at the last 2 pull out maps but never say never!!

PS
Wouldn't want to upset the socialists either, seeing as though they're doing such a grand job of running the country at the moment!
