am i alone in this awful amount of beer or do others have the same problem?

I drank far too much at Uni......
Since then I've just kinda stopped, Now I can go weeks without touching a drop!
However I did have 2 cans of Guinness last night.... It seemed appropriate!

i can open a bud on ma arm
you just push the end into your forearm really hard and twist and it doesnt hurt.
you have to push the bottle hard into your arm tho because if you dont quite do it hard enough it rips the skin off your arm which really hurts.
not that that's ever happened to me...

the question is 'how much do we drink' not 'how do we open the containers with the booze inside'
if your that good at opening bottles of bud then you must have had a lot of practice so come on, how much do you drink?

Yes he can Zanz, he just drinks even 'Larger' Cans of Lager!
I drink about 1/2 bottle of Red wine a week when my Father in-law comes around for dinner on one night, apart from that hardly any bottled/canned beer or 'Larger'
But i am expecting that to rise slightly to maybe 1-2 bottles a few nights a week when the summer nights arrive and I get home from work wanting a nice alcoholic beverage to cool me down (you know on summer day, all one day of it? remember summer day last year? great wasn't it??)

The real answer is easy...too much
Is anyone else ashamed, when they put out their recycle waste and its full of beer bottles?

I've recently escaped the over drinking frenzy I had got mixed up in....
A german guy who used to live up the road had his own bar setup.. beer on tap. We once asked him how many beers he'd drunk in one night, he replied about 20litres (40 pints), we asked how many people, he said - you asked me!
Six of us actually got through two 30L barrels one Sunday...
It's OK once in a while, I miss my friend, but it's a lot easier on the waistline. Might have the odd glass of wine/beer/whiskey/vodka now and again. And when going out for a beer (like this Friday) with some mates..I'll only have two or three...
I prefer to enjoy my drink..and remember what I did the previous night...
Just remembered a time when a mate of mine and I had gone cycling to a campsite near the sea - we were just about drinking age 17. We were out on the booze from opening time till closing... then went to a night club. We had our heads shaved and bought a lilac coloured TShirt to raise money for charity and then rode home. We pi55ed in the boating lake and then had a fight... I got back to the tent. Fell asleep. When I woke up next (morning) my friend wasnt there! Quickest recovery from a hangover,I can tell you... He hadnt quite got back to the campsite, and was hanging over a fence being looked after by a sexy girl - lucky sod. I went off on my own and couldnt help smiling seeing the holiday makers in the boats with their hands dangling over the side....

During the week I hardly drink anything at all. When Im as home I don't drink during the week but I've been in hotels all this week. I've had 1 small glass of wine and two pints of guniess of course!
This weekend I have a party Friday and a Wedding Saturday so I'll consume three weeks worth of units this weekend. Then not drink for the next three weeks, until the next wedding!!
It's all about saving units for specific nights out!!
In 2008 I didnt drink from 1st Jan until April whilst training for my first Marathon. I didnt loose one pound though as I was eating for three people whilst running so much. It was the hardest thing Ive ever done, I had to miss out on three of my mates 25th birthdays!! I did raise £2.5k for charity though!! Never again will i sign up to such a stupid idea!

I very rarely drink at home i like to drink socially in a Pub/Bar which is almost every Thursday night most friday afternoons/evenings i try to abstain Sat nights (Not always possible) so I can hit the trails Sunday morning.
The only issue is I seem to have is that I binge drink when I'm out and tend to push others into Quaffing ale like the bar had called last orders......not healthy
My other issue is Jack Daniels.........same again once i get started its generally doubles with Fu@k all coke.
So a normal session Thursday & friday and this is totals for the 2 days maybe 14-16 pints and 12-14 Double Jd's and coke sometimes its more sometimes its less but I'm defiantly 100% ratted by then..........how many Units is that over 2 days?
Doesnt sound too healthy now ive thought about it
That said im currenty dry till june due to my job and present location

Not very much - average 2 units per week.
Live near St Albans where CAMRA have their HQ. Massive beer fest each autumn. Strangely, I never even get any where near sampling even 10% of the brews on offer (250 of them). Oh, and I prefer blondes - ales that is!!

Found this ......interesting stuff
http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/tips-and-tools/drink-diary/?gclid=CNCiz8jzrpkCFQo1QwodQSdvIw
I worked out that 8 pints and 6 double JD's in one night is 37.25 units, they recommend 3-4 per day for a bloke which is 21-28 in a week
So if i do it Thurs and Fri that equal 74.5 units per week!!!!!!!!
Hmmm do I have a drink problem?!?!?!?!

Doesnt St Albans have the highest number of pubs per citizen in the UK? When I was an agent for OAklands College - I tried as many as possible - even the haunted ones

Far too much, most evenings it's a bottle of wine, sometimes two or three bottles or atleast 3-4 large GnT's. I try to keep off the beer, it's far too easy to drink.
I need to knock it on the head and get training for the Bristol Bike Fest..........

Does home-brew actually count?
It certainly helps cut down the bottles we put out for recycling especially as lady Q is now making wine too!
The last was a rather cheeky Shiraz and there's 30 bottles of Pinot Grigio cooking behind me!
So if I only include the beers I have out then I just about come under the reccomended daily allowance, also when did it start being a daily allowance? I used to save mine up for the weekends and it seems like you can't even do that anymore
