Start to up the milage to get a bit more lard shifted Then start doing some sit ups press ups or weights for the upper body.
Two stones in 10 weeks aint bad going mind keep the good work up.

Good work.... great encouragement for some of us on the forum... forty and fat....
I justify my riding as a necessity after drinking beer... not as a way to reduce drinking beer
Welcome BTW.

well done Ratty
very impressive, you should be proud of yourself.
It is worth considering your diet (not dieting) when you up the mileage.
Your body still needs fuel and you don't want to go too far.
Regarding sit ups, core strength is important.
Get up in the morning, put the kettle on and do 10 mins of stretching, sit ups and press ups. real gentle for the firat week so it almost seems like you are not trying just to get the muscles used to it. If you try too hard it will hurt and put you off.
If you are going to do sit ups, try to do some form of hyper extensions (the oposite of sit ups, where you curl the back. you could use an inflatable gym ball or lay on your front out straight on the floor and lift your legs and arms up and hold for two seconds and then relax repeat) to help balance your core strength.
sorry if that's a crap description

Morning, just a little update (cos im quite proud of myself and thanks for the nice replys!) i started doing situps (about 100 a night, enough for me at mo) and the bike riding is getting much easier like going up hills i was in the lowest gear now im in top gear most of the time, think my stamina/fitness is improving all the time, any way as of the 1st of jan i was 18st 3pound as of yesterday i am 15st 8 pound, belly is going down rapidly, just thought i would share that with you Thanks Paul.

Ratcatcher keep it up mate itll change your life Sounds similar to what ive been doing this year and i know it works
As follows:
Have breakfast (Porridge/Toast or cereal/boiled eggs)
Have lunch (Protein based, pasta and Salad heavy)
Have dinner (Make it a decent one its your last till the morning!)
Dont eat after your last meal if your hungary drink water, its eating in the evening that put the weight on all of us.
Dont eat SH1TE in between meals
Try to lay off the ale/wine (easy for me to say im abroad and dry at the moment!)
Do phyis what ever you like as long as its 5-6 times a week minimum 45-60 mins and lots of sit-ups!!
Its not very technical i know but it doesn'tt have to be,I guarantee you will loose weight in just a few weeks and your energy/fitness/stamina will go up
Just my tuppence worth

You've put three pounds on!!!!!!!!!!
Still three stones in three months is bloody good. A 15.5st meathead will always be fitter and healthier than an 18.5st lardball. Keep it up and well done.
