dalby forest,it's o.k, but it was £7.00 to park, and i couldn't find anywhere to wash the bike down after the ride.....i thought the "blue" trail was pretty cool tho, and i enjoyed the good quality of the trails. all in tho i reckon it needs to be cheaper, but for my first time at a place like this i enjoyed it!!!
take it easy guys

Dalby Forest is Great place to ride now boys...Best in England.... 22 mile red...including North shore & some rock gardens...7 mile black...Skills park (Dixons Hollow), ...and a small but scary Down hill course....What more do you need...
Here's a little video I made earlier.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkQe287RDy4
They have made the best of the terrain available lots of variety even though they don't have the verticle drop of Wales or Scotland.
Oh.. and there are x2 jet washes at Purple Mountain (Bike/Hire Shop)at the visitors centre. Also a nice little snack shop if you fancy a hot jacket potato to replace those lost carbs..
£7.00 per car but well worth it. Enjoy....

this may seem a little cheap but there is a free way into dalby: If you're coming up out of pickering you will pass the fox and Rabbit inn. A little further on, on the right hand side there is a junction and a laminated sign from the FC. Turn down here. After a bit the track forks-take the right fork it then come out into the open and joins onto the forest drive. Right to visitors center, left to dixons hollow.

Great 23 mile red route at Dalby but for me the weird thing was that the visitor centre, cafe, bike shop, toilets, bike wash etc was so far from the start of the red/black & blue routes!!! plus the fact that it wasn't immediately obvious nor particularly well signed - the car park at the start of the red/black/blue routes doesn't even have the basics like a single picnic table to sit & have a brew!

You must be starting the red route at dixons hollow-The bike park. The Proper start for the red is right near the bike wash place, the same for the blue but NOT the black and green. I always start the red from dixons hollow because the 1st six miles from the visitor center is pretty much all uphill.

i started the red from dixons hollow as thats what the map said that was given to me when i paid. mint ride though, i would advise anyone to go.
i really liked the fact that you could try bits of black when ever a black arrow appeared or just stay on the red.

That is one of the starts but the 'proper' start is near purple mountain bike shop but it's swings and roundabouts I suppose if you carried on round to dixons hollow I usually start at dixons hollow and finish at the visitors center as Me and my mate don't like the 1st 6 miles as its mostly uphill
