What is a good size rear tyre for xc and bridleway riding? Got a 2.10 fitted at the moment a friend said change to a 1.95 to match the front.What do others think please? Should I ? Thank you

Not sure myself bud, i run 2.00 on the front ond a narrow 2.2 on the back....works for me!
Just remember some sizes differ between brands..

Thanks for the reply.Looking at Tioga factory xc.I borrowed a bike with them on and they were fine,but not sure what size they were! Anyone else please? Thanks

Hi Bangbang,
I know a few people who run different size front to rear tyres but I'm a same size both ends kinda guy, I find I wear the back down quicker than the front so I generally replace my worn back with the front and bang a new one on the front. I'm also a Maxxis UST convert so have lots of time for highrollers, larsens and in winter I swap to Bontrager Jones Mud X.
Tyre size on this criteria means I run what I can get in UST, 2.35 highrollers for intermediate terrain/slop, 2.1 Mud X's and 2.00 larsens, I've never really noticed much difference in the ride that I've attributed to tyre size, guess I'm not refined enough, I do notice a big difference in what the tread patterns can do for you though. Larsens rock in the summer due to lightweight and small blocks, Mud X in the slop out perform Highrollers big style but are slower than HR's when the going is intermittent.
