hi steve, i can only think that it was the hanger that ElPonko bent back to shape, christ that must be a sh#t hot hairdryer you have there ponk and an iron scalp.
if you have twisted the mech then just twist it back. looking form the back of the bike the mech should be straight up and down, not angled towards or away from the bike. make sure its nice and horizontal, after that adjust the mech to pick up all the gears.
i dont think it needs replacing, just sorting.
